This may have been the site of a corn mill in 1503 (see Bradway Mill - no.12). By 1816 the mill was probably no longer in use, with the mill pond being used as a reserve water store for Bradway Mill (mill no.12).
The building of the Manchester railway line led to the straightening of the river which in turn led to the disturbance of the mill buidings. The site is now occupied by an electricity sub-station.
